Kent State University's presence in the Canton area (refered to as the "Canton Center") starts to become a permanent reality as construction begins at its future home. Signs along Frank Rd. indicate the boundaries for the campus. In the meantime, as enrollment increases Kent State leases space in the American Legion Post 44 building on Cleveland Ave. in addition to its classes at Lehman High School. The Center offers five health and physical education (HPE) classes on Saturday mornings, including volleyball, folk dancing, archery, and bowling.
