Kent State University - Stark Campus
Plans for an official, physical Stark campus are well underway. Registration is expected to top 1,000 students. Kentonian staff discuss the need for a student body identity as a part of KSU. The "Canton Five," the starters for the Canton Center basketball team, prepare for a big weekend game against the OSU Lakewood branch.
After a committee headed by Dr. Wayne Wolf identified the location for its permanent campus, Kent State at Stark became a reality with the design of its Main Hall building (rendering above). Bids for contractors went out and the completion for construction was set for 1967. Expected enrollment for both day and night classes was set at 2,000 to 3,000 students.
