Description

The cover of a nineteenth-century American crime pamphlet about the famous Harvard Murder Case of 1849. Webster was a Harvard chemistry professor convicted and hanged for the murder of Dr. George Parkman to whom Webster owed money. The case was highly sensationalized in the media due to the gruesome details of the murder.
