A broadside a ballad about the crimes and execution of Maria and Frederick Manning. This was a very famous case of mid-19th-century England. The Mannings murdered and stole from their wealthy friend Patrick O'Connor and were sentenced to death by hanging. Novelist Charles Dickens attended the execution and wrote about the behavior of the crowd at this public hanging.
